The CTE Academic Consultant will work with CTE instructors and other professionals to develop and enhance units of instruction to teach academic content more explicitly; therefore providing highly relevant and rigorous instruction resulting in student learning and success. The CTE Academic Consultant may also work &lt;br/&gt;directly with students delivering academic instruction within the CTE technical area. The overall goal of this position is to create a teaching and learning system within CTE that fuses technical skills with academics for maximum benefit to students. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Essential Duties and Responsibilities &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;1. Collaborate with CTE program instructors and others, individually and in groups, to develop and enhance units of instruction that integrate academic content and technical skill content. &lt;br/&gt;    a. Utilize the Michigan Merit Curriculum for specific academic content     area. &lt;br/&gt;    b. Utilize the MDE, Office of Career &amp;amp; Technical Education technical standards for each CTE program area. &lt;br/&gt;    c. Utilize best practice and research based strategies for curriculum development and unit/lesson delivery. &lt;br/&gt;    d. Infuse business and industry specific information and resources. &lt;br/&gt;    e. Develop online instruction where possible. &lt;br/&gt;2. Teach lessons to high school students and/or assist in the delivery of lessons within various CTE program areas. &lt;br/&gt;3. Conduct classroom observations and follow-up sessions to support teachers in delivering integrated lessons/units. &lt;br/&gt;4. Collaborate with business and industry partners as needed to highlight examples of academic integration in the technical area within each CTE area. &lt;br/&gt;6.
